Parking and Vehicle Access

There is plenty of free parking available for visitors. The lane is narrow with passing places and there is a canal bridge to go over, so just take it nice and slow, and please don't beep. Coach parking for groups is available by prior arrangement only. Please see Group Bookings for more information on coach parking and access.

Disabled Access

We welcome visitors in wheelchairs and mobility scooters and also those with less visible needs. The nursery and garden are on gentle slopes with no steps. The disabled parking space is right next to the nursery entrance, with room to get a chair or scooter out of the car. We don't have wheelchairs or mobility scooters for hire. We have two toilets available, the entry into both of them is flat, with no steps. One of them has an extra wide entrance and a hand rail adjacent to the toilet.

Please let us know if we can do anything further to make your visit enjoyable and comfortable.

Refreshments

Hot and cold drinks, locally made cakes, and Cheshire Farm Ice Cream are offered in the tearoom.  There is plenty of seating both inside the tearoom and there are outside tables under cover. You are very welcome to bring a picnic lunch, and use any of the outside tables. We do request that visitors don't take picnics into the garden as it can detract from the enjoyment of the gardens by others.

Dogs and Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs only are permitted in the gardens and inside the tea room. Non-assistance dogs are welcome in all other areas and must be kept on a close lead at all times.

Walkers and Cyclists

The surrounding area is superb for walking and cycling. We are close to the walking path that runs alongside the river Weaver and on the Sustrans 5 cycle route. The gardens are adjacent to the Trent and Mersey Canal and just ten minutes walk from Dutton Locks. We have maps available for walkers.
If you would like to park your car here while going for a walk, just check with us beforehand and note that the car park gates are locked at 5pm. Please don't park on the lane as it is very narrow and causes access issues for farm traffic. For cyclists we have a bike rack for your use.

Canal Boaters

The gardens are adjacent to the Trent and Mersey Canal about a mile south of the Preston Brook Tunnel. Just moor up near bridge 213, walk through the slip path by the bridge and keep going down the hill. The entrance is 100 yards on the right.
